02 May This week at Hope 05/02/2022
Yesterday in worship we observed the Third Sunday of Easter and continued the celebration of our Lord’s Resurrection. We saw Jesus preparing breakfast for His disciples on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. What a loving gesture for reunion with believers who were still not fully committed to His way. Oh, and the Lord also blessed them with a miraculous catch of fish, 153 big ones! All this reminded us that God is with us with His power and grace right here in our daily, earthly lives. The Lord supplies our needs and shares His love so that we can be humbly dependent and trust Him for everything today and in the future.
Sunday Adult Discipleship Class is finding its groove in the study of 2 Corinthians. We discussed the powerful truth of chapter 4, one of the key sections in all the Bible. I invite you to take a few minutes right now to read that chapter again and let Jesus minister to you. During that same time yesterday, our Sunday School children learned more about Jesus from the faithful instruction of Amy and Sharon.
Hope’s Book Club has a new reading for May. It is, About My Mother. Written by Peggy Rowe, mother of TV host Mike Rowe, it contains true, funny stories about a Horse-Crazy Daughter and her Baseball-Obsessed Mother. See Deaconess Sharon to get your book. Discussion will start this Wednesday from 1-2:30pm in Hope Harbor.
A new session of GriefShare begins this Thursday, May 5, at 6:00pm. You can participate in-person in Hope Harbor or online by Zoom. Contact Betty Bobo to get all the details.
