21 Jun Today at Hope 6/21/2021
Yesterday in worship we observed the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost and directed our attention to the Supremacy of Christ. Since Jesus was willing to die for the salvation of the world, and since He is the firstborn from the dead, He is worthy of first place in all areas of our lives. That is the objective of our Christian Stewardship, to demonstrate that all that we are and have points to Jesus above everything. Our faith and worship and dedication and adoration and trust and obedience are shown in how we make use of our time and our money and our ability to serve. Secure in the unearned grace of Christ, we always have room to grow. Next Sunday is Loyalty Sunday when each of us can make the pledge to keep Jesus on the throne as Lord of our lives.
We had another great discussion yesterday in our Adult Discipleship class. The topic was healthy, Christ-centered ways to deal with regrets. Come and join in next Sunday for another fresh video-based topic.
Next Sunday is also our semi-annual Voters Assembly. Along with various reports and plans for ministry, we will be adopting the congregation budget for 2021-22. Meeting will be in Friendship Hall at 11:45 am.
Volunteer Training for work with Austin Disaster Relief is coming to Hope this Wednesday, June 23. The one session will prepare you for a variety of service, all in your own time and choosing. Meal will start at 5:00, with the training session running from 5:30 to 8:30 pm.
Gather the family and invite your friends to this Friday’s Movie on the Trail. All the fun starts around 8 pm on Hope’s Great Lawn.
You are invited to come be part of our Tacos and Prayers outreach this Saturday. Food prep will start in the Parish Hall at 8 am, then at 10 am we will process a few blocks to the parking lot of MBC service station. We will hand out tacos and bottled water and offer prayers for anyone who is willing. It’s a great time to be among our neighbors and to easily show the love of Jesus.
The Lord has supplied each of us generously with daily provision. I encourage you to make regular and faithful Offerings at Hope in faith and gratitude for God’s loving care. Here are three ways to do that:
• In-person at the offering plate;
• On the church website by the Give with Us button;
• Through the Vanco mobile app GivePlus.
