We are excited about our program for senior citizens here at Hope. It is open to all senior citizens from our own congregation and those in the surrounding community.
SAIL is a program whose focus is to enrich the lives of those attending in various ways that keep our minds and bodies active. It is two hours packed with fun and stimulating activities. We offer a time to meet new friends, exercises that anyone can do, game centers, trivia, music and weekly themes that set the mood for the day. We begin with an optional opportunity for a devotion time prior to the start of the program.
We meet:
Thursdays at 10:00 AM – 12 Noon
Devotions at 9:30 AM

Hope’s health ministry team is pro-active in informing our congregation of current health related issues, congregational safety and emergency protocols. We conduct a monthly blood pressure clinic and write a monthly health focus article for the Hope newsletter. Some of our team, in partnership with AGE of Central Texas, conduct annual workshops for members and the community on Caregiver Support, Dealing with Dementia, and Balance Exercises for senior citizens which help in leading a more active life. Other workshops are also conducted to meet the needs of the congregation and community.
As an extension of the national Lutheran Braille Workers, this local effort meets at Hope several times every week to produce and ship Biblical materials for those with sight disabilities. Volunteers from several local congregations find camaraderie and purpose in providing this valuable service.
