23 Nov This week at Hope 11/23/2020
Yesterday in worship we observed the Last Sunday in the Church Year. Our focus was on being well-prepared for Christ’s return. That means being attentive to the signs of the times and letting the word of Christ dwell in us richly for faithful perseverance. As we heard Jesus speak through Matthew’s Gospel, though, it is the Lord Himself who prepares us for Judgment Day. God established His kingdom for us “before the world began.” And Jesus has perfectly demonstrated what kingdom life means, as He feeds the hungry and clothes the naked and visits the sick, etc. That’s you and me! As we take refuge in Christ and as we rely on His perfect character, there is no fear in standing before the Lord. The King says to us, “Come, you who will receive good things from My Father.”
